Sponsorship General Conditions
General Principles
1. The Lawyer Alcides Sá Esteves (hereinafter identified as "Lawyer") practises his professional activity with full independence and liberty, respecting the Statute of the Bar, additional applicable legislation and ethical rules governing lawyer practice.
2. The predicate of Client is acquired in the initial singular or collective visit with the Lawyer.
3. The relationship between Lawyer and Client is based ou mutual trust.
4. The Lawyer, according to his evaluation of the concrete "case" circumstances, will act in the client´s best interest, abiding by the legal end ethical regulations.
5. The Client is obliged to provide tothe Lawyer all the relevant informations to the sponsorship of the "affairs" trusted in him, as well as all the documents and others means of proof considered necessary. The Client is bound to be in the Lawyer´s office at the the date and time agreed by both, as often as solicited to adress presential pending issues.
6. The Lawyer will prevent, in the client´s best interest, useless litigation.
7. Honesty, probity, rectitude, loyalty, courtesy and sincerity are professional obligations of the Lawyer.
8. The Lawyer is bound to keep professional secret regarding all the facts known in the course of his activity or rendering of services. The duty of secrecy covers all the people who assist the Lawyer in his activities.
Work Method
1. The Lawyer gives special relevance to the thorough study of the legal issues posed by the Client, searching the most suited solution in the shortest time span possible.
2. From each case submitted to the Lawyer emerges a diagnostic and the definition of a work strategy, before initiating any procedure. The Client will always be informed of the implications of colateral issues that may arise. The Lawyer will provide the Client his conscencious opinion about the worthiness of the right or pretension by him invoqued - and in his service will use all his experience, knowledge and practice.
3. The Lawyer will inform the Client, on his own iniciative, of the current state of affairs, whenever something relevant arises; by Client request, the Lawyer will also provide information regarding the affairs in him confided.
